Department of Civil Engineering
What Is Civil Engineering?

@Our lives are supported by various structures such as roads, bridges, railways, harbours, airports, dams, water supply and sewerage systems, and tunnels. The Department of Civil engineering focuses on the study of facilities and systems that form a combined sense of gcommunity strengthh as it relates to our own lives.
@On the other hand, when we only pursue convenience in our living space, there is a danger of causing great harm to the natural environment. For this reason, the Department of Civil Engineering aims to produce engineers who possess accurate knowledge and an informed perspective regarding the natural environment, and who are able to create new cities and environments that are in harmony with nature.

Admission Policy

@The Department of Civil Engineering offers a wide range of studies for the creation of facilities and structures that provide safety and comfort to peoplefs lives. For this reason, the following attributes are required in students of the Department of Civil Engineering:
Those with an interest in construction, such as bridges and roads
Those with an interest in urban planning of cities strong against natural and other disasters
Those with an interest in the environment and landscapes

What Will I Be Studying?

@In order to gcreate a space where people can live safely and comfortably,h the Department of Civil Engineering is engaged in the study of planning (considering what is necessary for comfortable living), design (calculating the size and strength of the object to be created), construction (considering how to make the object from a written design plan) and evaluation (investigating the influence the created object will have on the environment). A defining feature of the Department is that besides studying in the classroom, there are many experiments and practical training sessions outdoors.
@Moreover, in the final year students will select a theme and research it, summarize the results in a thesis and give a presentation on their findings.
