Department Science and Engineering for Materials
Materials Science and Engineering is Knowledge that Profoundly Connects to Our Lives

@It is true that advances in chemical technology have made our lives more convenient. However, it has caused various problems, such as environmental pollution and depleted energy and resources. For this reason, it is necessary to foster engineers who have the capacity to create materials that are useful in peoplesf daily lives in ways that are eco-friendly but still enriching.
@In order to foster the development of such engineers, the Department Science and Engineering for Materials provides the education of expertise and skills required for approaching these issues, while considering materials from the perspective of their structure, composition, combination, manufacture and properties, as well as to gain proficiency and broad knowledge in order to solve problems from a diversified perspective.

Admission Policy

@The Department Science and Engineering for Materials welcomes people who wish to become chemical engineers to create eco-friendly materials, which are useful for our lives, based on chemical technology.
Those with an interest in the gwhysh of materials and organisms seen in our daily lives
Those who excel at science and mathematics and are fond of laboratory experiments
Those who can aggressively work on new challenges while cooperating with their colleagues

What You Will Study at the Department Science and Engineering for Materials

@Students in their freshman to senior years will study the basics of material science as well as basic skills in analysis, observational studies, and scientific compounds. Not only classroom theory, but practical exercises using computers will also be provided over the course.
@Forth-year students will be divided into a material chemistry course and a biochemistry course. In the materials chemistry course, students will broaden their knowledge of material chemistry through laboratory experiments on inorganic materials and high-molecular materials. In the biochemistry course, students will study basic knowledge and technology related to what is known as biotechnology.
@Fifth-year students will undertake their graduation research as the culmination of their five years of study. The students will each take up their own respective research theme while under the suitable and pinpoint-accurate guidance of a mentor.
