FEATURE 01

The "one department and four divisions" system is utilized in the concentrated study of specialized fields.

Tomakomai National College of Technology employs a “one department, four tracks” system in which students do not choose their specialized field upon admission. Instead, they spend their first year carefully exploring their interests and aptitudes, and then select one of five tracks in their second year, where they begin full-scale specialized studies.
This new educational system not only provides high-level engineering expertise but also cultivates interdisciplinary skills, rich humanity, a broad perspective, and the ability to generate innovation—competencies essential for the next era.
From the fourth year, students may also choose to enter the “Frontier Course.”

FEATURE 02

The power to create a new generation is developed through our original subjects.

Educational contents are the effective combination of general subjects (mathematics, English, and Japanese, etc.) and specialized engineering subjects, in order for students to easily acquire the practicality and creativity necessary in "manufacturing (monozukuri)."
In addition, the ability to create a new generation is cultivated through our original subjects "Creative Engineering" and "AI and Data Science". From the 5th year, graduate research is carried out as the culmination of 5 years of study.

Frontier Course

In addition to studying specialized engineering from the 4th year, students learn management-related subjects needed to become a company manager or project leader in the future.

Hybrid innovative human resources who can lead the next generation through "Engineering" + "Management" are trained.
