Division of Mechanical Engineering

Students are trained to be mechanical engineers who can play an active role in various fields.

Mechanical engineers work in operations such as product design, manufacture and management, for use not only in cars and robots, but also various fields such as food, medical and welfare, and energy. In the Division of Mechanical Engineering, students learn practical and specialized knowledge and techniques from the basics, establishing a solid foundation as an engineer who can play an active role in various fields.

Recommended for the following persons!

  • Persons who like to research the structure of things, and assemble them.
  • Persons who are not afraid of detailed work, and continue to build on it.
  • Persons who are not limited to a specific field, and want to work in various fields.

Curriculum characteristics

FEATURE

2 nd year

A year to cultivate knowledge as a mechanical engineer

Study in this specialized subject begins with Dynamics of Machinery, where basics of engineering are taught, Mechanical Engineering Practice, and Machine Design and Drawing, where machining and drafting methods are taught as the basis of manufacturing. Focus is also placed on developing drafting skills using 3D CAD.

3 rd year

A year to lay the foundation as a mechanical engineer

Students learn advanced techniques to handle practical numerical control processing machines and robot arms. In addition, students learn specialized subjects such as Strength of Materials needed to design machine strength, Manufacturing Technology needed to handle materials, and Engineering Materials needed to select materials.

4 th year

A year to cultivate advanced specialized knowledge and ability as a mechanical engineer

In addition to specialized subjects studied since the 3rd year, students learn currently developing specialized subjects such as Fluid Mechanics and Thermal Engineering related to the energy to move machines. Knowledge and phenomena taken from specialized subjects are acquired in practice through Mechanical Engineering Laboratory.

5 th year

A year to acquire diversity and thinking skills in order to play an active role in a wide range of fields in society

Adding to previously learned specialized subjects, students continue to learn specialized subjects related to machine motion control. Graduate research is the culmination of knowledge and skills accumulated up to this point. Students can research biomechanics, energy utilization, production and processing methods, development of new materials, etc.
